Maurice (JPN) is the sire of five individual Group 1 winners which include Hitotsu and Mazu. In 2022/23 Maurice was Australia’s Champion Third Season Sire and among the top dozen active Australian sires with earnings of $10.7 million and 11 stakes performers headed by Group-winning 3YOs Bank Maur & Kibou, Listed winner & Queensland Oaks G1 placegetter Noah ‘N’ A Deel and 2YO Listed winners Azula & Namesake, as well as Mazu, winner of the Sydney Sprint Series and third in The Everest & T.J. Smith S. G1.
This colt is very much bred in the purple being the first-foal from Greatest Joy who is a full-sister to Champion and eight-time Group 1 winning mare More Joyous. More Than Ready is a proven broodmare sire with his daughters producing an impressive five per cent stakes winners to runners.
